Over the years, PPGEISU has received scholarships for students from the following institutions: Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), and State Funding Agency of Bahia (FAPESB). In 2021, the Program features 5 CAPES and 4 FAPESB grants. The distribution of these scholarships follows national legislation and the Program’s Scholarship Resolution, which takes into account the quota system and socioeconomic vulnerability program. There is also the scientific initiation scholarship program, whereby undergraduate students participate in research projects developed by permanent professors. The funding for this scholarship program comes from CNPq, FAPESB, and UFBA. In addition, the Pro-Dean’s Office for Student Assistance at UFBA (PROAE) offers resources for student persistence at the university for undergraduate and graduate students in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability, granting access to university residences and restaurants, daycare, transportation assistance, housing assistance, and support grants. In order to receive this assistance, the student needs to get registered on the following website: www.proae.ufba.br (In Portuguese).
Some permanent professors of the Program receive a Research Productivity grant from CNPq and some of the professors’ research projects are financed by different funding agencies, both through public notices. PPGEISU has had Postdoctoral Scholarships in Brazil and abroad to qualify the faculty.
PPGEISU receives annual funds from the Graduate Studies Support Program (PROAP), from CAPES for financing professors and students attending national and international events and publications. UFBA provides financial support to translate and proofread articles via internal public notice. This support also appears in public notices of agencies that promote participation in events and publications, such as CNPq and FAPESB. Information on financing notices can be accessed through the external websites www.capes.gov.br, www.cnpq.br, and www.fapesb.ba.gov.br, among others.
